Fix places where the code previously assumed that `nb_reference(T)' and

	Fix places where the code previously assumed that `nb_reference(T)' and
	`reference(T)' had the same representation as `c_pointer'.
	This is not the case in some grades, e.g. the `--reserve-tag' grades.
